Early Years Foundation Stage

Information for EYFS parents

Children are admitted to school in the academic year in which their fifth birthday falls. All children start Reception class in September. Pupils continue to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Their learning is achieved through both adult led and child initiated experiences. Home visits are offered to all children in the September before they start school and the class teachers will visit them in their preschool settings during the previous Summer term. The Reception children are all entitled to a free school lunch and have an older child as their ‘buddy’ to help them settle in to school life.
